THE PROJECT
Multicultural Consultant – Educational Liaison officer to support Children and Young People from ethnic minorities and immigrant communities in statutory education and non-statutory VET
This project is concerned with the Vocational Education and Training (VET) dimension of trainers, advisers and consultants who have an occupational role concerned with supporting retention and addressing ‘drop-out’ from students and trainees from immigrant communities in compulsory and further education (mainly from 14 to 19 years) contexts. Project will share and exchange tools, strategies, good practices and experiences across the EU partners, focusing on the part played by the education and training of migrant students in the integration process, in Czech Republic, Spain and the United Kingdom.
The main aims of the project are:
- Exchanging, analysing and comparing among the partners good examples of policy practices and means concerning education system, career guiding and mentoring throughout the “key figure” of the multicultural consultant.
- Sharing, enhancing and further promoting among the partners some successful models, strategies and knowledge in order to prevent the immigrant school drop-out phenomenon.
The project is funded under the European Commission’s Lifelong Learning Programme, Leonardo da Vinci Partnerships. The participating organizations would like to thank the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency, the Directorate General Education and Culture of the European Commission and the National Agencies of UK, Czech Republic and Spain for their support.
